Cascade Clamp - Cascade Manufacturing Company was established in Portland, Oregon in 1943. They started out as a small machine shop in the beginning hiring four people. Product sales for their initial year of operation totaled sixty thousand dollars. The first recorded sales revenues involved the assembly and machining of stainless-steel valves, pipe fittings and other components. Through 5 years of operation, the company had expanded to 40 staff and their annual sales volume had increased to 330 thousand dollars. Today, Cascade is one of the top worldwide manufacturers within the material handling trade.
Design and production of the company's first hydraulic cylinder allowed this young company to aggressively engage in new business possibilities. All through the last sixty years, the business of material handling has developed into a very sophisticated area with Cascade proudly playing a part in its progress. Cascade presently continues to develop as the premier provider of lift truck attachments and various associated products. The business feels certain in their potential in order to continue to lead the way within the business by understanding buyer's requirements in the future and remaining competitive in the world market.
Through the 1950's, Cascade began to fabricate, design, and promote its hydraulic accessories. A brand new facility was constructed in 1956, in order to house all plant operations and offices in Portland, Oregon, which remains to be the company's present head office. Following fifteen years of business, total staff reached one hundred eighty staff and sales had reached nearly 2.3 million dollars.
In the year 1959 in Springfield, Riverside the next production plant was built. The year 1960 marked Cascade's preliminary transfer into the international world of the material handling industry while the company recognized interest in Australia, the Netherlands and England.
In the year 1964, the company altered its name to the Cascade Corporation. After that in the year 1965, the business went public with a preliminary offering of two hundred thousand shares of common stock. Ever since then the business has expanded its manufacturing amenities within the continental USA to the locations Warner Robins Georgia to go along with its already present plants in Springfield, Riverside and Portland, Oregon. Cascade merchandise are made internationally because of many subsidiary operations. In 1994, a new plant was completed in Almere, the Netherlands which is Cascade's European control center. This plant is designed to be the ultimate customer service centre.
Continuing to grow, Cascade expanded their product offering further in 1996 and the year 1997 with the impressive acquisition of 5 corporations, together with the global leader in blades, the Kenhar Corporation.
